LIMBS FAQs

Below are the steps to create new account in LIMBS:

  • Go to Home Page of LIMBS portal
  • Click on New user
  • Select your Ministry
  • Click on start registration process
  • Fill all details and click on add user

  • Length is between 5 to 15
  • It accepts only lowercase values.

  • Password should be 8 characters long
  • It should contain at least one upper case, one lowercase letter one number, one alphabet and one special character.

By using user’s functionality link.

After login into the portal user has a provision to generate new password.

With the help of Nodal/local admin or LIMBS team user can retrieve his/her username.

On registration page list of Nominated, Nodal Officer/Local Admin is attached else after login into the module under MIS report.

By using new entry under My Court Cases.

By using Edit under compliance entry of My Court Cases.

By using update status under compliance entry of My Court Cases.

By using Edit proceeding under My Court Cases.

Under compliance entry LIMBS has search on basis of next date/elapsed date.

Below are the steps to get CNR from LIMBS

  • Go to Updation
  • Update CNR using registration number
  • Click on view
  • Enter details as required
  • Click on update

Below are the steps to get tribunals registration number from LIMBS

  • Go to Updation
  • Update tribunal cases via API
  • Click on view
  • Enter details as required
  • Click on update

Below are the steps for dispose of cases in LIMBS

  • Go to My Court Cases-->Compliance Entry
  • Search your case.
  • Click onto the update status link.
  • Select Litigation -> Decided/Pronounced -> and then select Decided-Won/Lost/With Direction/Dismissed. Then provide a judgement date and click on the Save button.
  • Select Post Litigation -> Disposed of -> Closed for Archive and click on the Save button.
  • The case will automatically move from Compliance Entry to MIS Reports- Disposed/Archive.

below are the steps to remove EXCEPTION CASES

  • Click on the "updation"
  • Click on the "Update Exceptions cases"
  • List of all the cases having the particular errors will appear
  • Click on the "UPDATE" button shown in the blue color just below the ‘Action’.
  • Remove the error by adding all the mandatory data or information required for the case.

Steps for case transfer are as follows-

  • Go to Transfer of Cases tab.
  • Click onto Transfer of case within/other ministry.
  • Click the transfer button.
  • Select the department and name of user from dropdown lists in case of within Ministry and select ministry and respective nodal officer in case of Other Ministry.
  • Give remarks and click onto the Transfer button.
  • The case can be pulled back using the Pullback button till the other user has not accepted the case.

High Court, District & Session courts, CAT, TDSAT, APTEL, CEASTAT, ITAT, NCLT, NCLAT, NGT and RCT.

Via Compliance Entry.

Nodal officer has a provision of deletion of Duplicate/wrong entry via my court cases. Else user can send mail to LIMBS team on legis@nic.in along with the LIMBS number.

Nodal officer has a provision to update mobile number of the user via “users” profile updation.

User can send name and mobile number of Advocate to LIMBS team of DOLA on legis@nic.in

Advance Search via click on search tab.

Request of transfer cases on Transfer cases tab.

There is no provision of CNR number in Tribunals cases. You can directly link the case to tribunals via fill the court details , case number and case type.
